Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) July 28, 2004

The Breast Cancer Care & Research Fund (BCCRF) is seeking sponsors for its Soccer Moms Kick Breast Cancer™ fundraiser to be held on Tuesday, October 5, 2004 with the Los Angeles Galaxy at the Home Depot Center in Carson, California.

“Soccer Moms Kick Breast Cancer” is using the sport of soccer to rally soccer moms, their family members and friends behind raising awareness of breast cancer and educating women about breast cancer, especially those women who live in medically underserved communities and who are members of ethnic minorities.

BCCRF invites business and industry to be one of its Founding Sponsors of this event that will be held each year in October. Every year October is proclaimed by the President of the United States as National Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

Soccer moms are in the age group most concerned and affected by breast cancer, and they are in the socio-economic group able to help others.

BCCRF is a 501 (c) (3) nonprofit volunteer health agency dedicated to the prevention, cure and treatment of breast cancer and to providing support and assistance to affected patients and their families through education and by connecting them to available resources.

Dr. John Link, a nationally known breast oncologist who is dedicated to improving the level of care and the quality of life for breast cancer patients, founded BCCRF in 1998. A majority of the Board of Directors are breast cancer survivors, several of whom are business owners and soccer moms.
